Rezumat:

   Proiectul de cercetare RO COUNTRY IMAGES analizeaza constructia discursiva a imaginii de tara si a identitatii nationale de catre diferiti actori sociali in Romania, intr-un macro context (al culturii promotionale globalizate si a practicilor de promovare adoptate de tari in intreaga lume) si un context specific (mobilitatea crescuta a persoanelor – migranti si refugiati in Europa, concomitent cu ascensiunea unor partide nationaliste si a discursului lor anti-imigratie). Criza refugiatilor din Europa a relevat diverse pozitionari si discursuri ale ”vechilor” state membre vs ”noile” state membre si a suscitat dezbateri aprinse in interiorul tarilor despre consecintele crizei, viitorul Uniunii Europene si beneficiile apartenentei la UE. Ca urmare, teme precum statutul tarilor, imaginea de tara si identitatea nationala au devenit teme recurente in dezbaterile publice, si nu doar teme pe agenda unor experti sau a unui guvern ca pana acum.

Obiective:

   In acest context, miza proiectului este sa analizeze longitudinal si sa ofere explicatii cu privire la modul in care actori sociali din Romania (guvern, media, cetateni) construiesc discursiv imaginea de tara si identitatea Romaniei, dupa criza refugiatilor din 2015. Premiza de la care se porneste este ca acesti diferiti actori reproduc, in discursurile lor, anumite reprezentari despre Romania si romani, cu privire la identitatea lor si la modul cum suntem perceputi. Analiza isi propune (1) sa identifice evolutia acestor reprezentari in timp (reconfigurari ale temelor sau strategiilor de discurs); (2) sa puna in discutie rolul media in constructia dezbaterilor; (3) sa investigheze in ce masura cetatenii (re)contextualizeaza discursurile politice si mediatice pentru a-si (re)construi propriile perspective despre Romania si romani. Desi axata pe Romania si dorind sa informeze politicile publice din Romania, studiul are o dimeniune europeana intrinseca prin evidentierea reprezentarilor despre 'noi' in raport cu 'altii' (migranti, EU).

Rezultatele estimate:

   Pentru comunitatea stiintifica: publicarea a 2 articole in reviste internationale de prestigiu); Participarea la 4 conferinte internationale pentru diseminarea rezultatelor proiectului. Pentru autoritati: 1 raport cu recomandari de politici (policy paper).
